Find the current Blue Book value and worth of your new and used guitars, both acoustic, electric and amplifier. The number one source of guitar and amplifier pricing and information so you can find the price and value of your used guitars and amplifier. Even from a distance, you can’t mistake the retro art-deco looks, offset curves, and unmistakable vibe of a classic Danelectro. The ’63 Dano is the company’s latest reissue of their classic “amp in a case” body style that caught the eye of many guitarists flipping through the Sears catalogs of the ’50s and ’60s.
our customers satisfaction is our first concern.
Serial numbers with an “S” prefix denote the 1970s (signifying a CBS attempt to use serial numbers to identify production years); an “E” prefix was introduced in 1979 to denote the 1980s. As seen in the overlap of numbers and years, even these references to actual production dates are rather loose. Back to my point - if Fender can do Danelectro bridges (and why would you on a non-dano) Danelectro can so do a finish that Fender essentially stole rom them (and from every late 60s stove/refrigerator).

This is really cool. You are looking at a Danelectro Dead-On '67 Baritone Reissue. Baritone guitars are between guitars and basses in length and tone, and this Danelectro model has a really meaty sound. Featuring two single-coil lipstick tube pickups for vintage tone, as well as a 3-way selector, the guitar also has a vibrato. It’s a double cutaway with a basswood body and takes it cue from vintage Danelectro models - the baritone was first introduced in 1956. It has a slim maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard.
A baritone electric guitar with retro looks and features.
The Dead-On '67 Baritone Electric Guitar from Danelectro features a long scale length for lower tuning, a satin finish, nickel hardware, a truss rod that adjusts at the headstock, the original swivel rosewood bridge that intonates, and souped-up Lipstick pickups. The 'Dead-On 67' guitar also features the original Danelectro tremolo and split pickguard.
- Longer 27.75' baritone scale length for lower tuning
- Dual lipstick single-coil pickups
- Two volume and two tone controls
- Rosewood bridge with tremolo bridge/tailpiece
- Nickel hardware
- Adjustable truss rod
- Satin finish
- Split pickguard
Cosmetics: Good Condition. There are some light strumming scratches on the pickguard as well as the front. The back is very clean. Neck, Fretboard and Headstock in good shape. Overall, very good condition. Normal wear and tear. Not abused or beat up in any way. It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.

Although a serial number is useful for roughly determining the age of a guitar, this is often not the exact date. As a result of the overlap between years, Fender serial numbers are also not by definition chronological.
In the past (before 1976) the serial numbers were often randomly assigned. To approximate the correct year of construction for the period before 1976, also look at the date on the heel of the neck and of the potmeters. Usually the production date is stamped or written on the heel of the neck. To approximate the correct year of construction for the period before 1976, also look at the date on the heel of the neck and of the potmeters. To read this it is necessary to unscrew the neck from the body.

Most specifications for a particular Fender guitar have hardly changed, if at all. Although there have been times when major changes have taken place, such as the acquisition of Fender by CBS, and the transition from CBS Fender to the current owner (Fender Musical Instruments Corporation), most models have generally not changed.
At Stratocasters from the early fifties, the serial numbers were stamped on the back of the vibrato cover plate. On some Telecasters at the bridge between the pick-up and the saddles.
Patent numbers Various patent numbers were added to the models between 1960 and 1977. These were stamped in the headstock under the Fender logo. | Example: PAT, 2,573,254 2,968,204 3,143,028 2,976,755 DES 187304 2,573,254 for pickup and bridge combination. 2,968,204 for the single coil pickup patent awarded in 1961 under other for Jaguar, Stratocaster, Duosonic. 3,143,028 the patent granted in August 1964 for Fender's adjustable neck construction. 2,976,755 for the split coil pickup design. (Used since 1957 to the Precision Bass) The DES is the serial number. |
